Odessa, West Texas, and the Big Bend Region offer a variety of sites for individuals and group tour enthusiasts.  Our location on Interstate 20 and access to an international airport provide easy access to our area. Scroll below for our suggested tours of Odessa and the West Texas area.


Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Morning:  Begin your morning by taking a trip down memory lane. Visit the Commemorative Air Force Museum and the American Airpower Heritage Museum. View authentic World War II artifacts, memorabilia and combat aircraft. Time: 3 hours Cost: $

Afternoon: In the mood for shopping? Music City Mall has it all. Several well known retailers such as Dillard's, J.C. Penney and Sears call MCM home. You will also find a large food court, movie theaters, the MCM ice- skating rink and several specialty shops.  Time: 2-3 hours  Cost: No charge

Evening:  Start your evening with dinner at the famous  Barn Door Restaurant and Pecos Depot. The landmark Pecos Depot, built in 1892 by the Panhandle-Santa Fe Railway, was refurbished in 1972 and is now part of the Barn Door Restaurant. The Barn Door is famous for their excellent steaks and blocks of cheese.  Time: 1.5 Hours Cost: Varies


Blast From the Past

Morning: See the Odessa Meteor Crater and museum-The phenomenon from out of this World that formed 50,000 years ago!! Commemorative Air Force Museum and American Airpower Heritage Museum. See authentic displays of World War II Memorabilia and aircraft. Crater Time: 30 - 45 Minutes  Crater Cost: No Charge Museum Time: 3 Hours Museum Cost: $

Afternoon: Parker Ranch House Museum depicts the Early ranch life of Ector County. Tour the White-Pool House- an early 1880's home. Thought perhaps to be the first home in Odessa. Visit down town Odessa - Restored Ector Theater . Have your picture taken with our 8ft. Jackrabbit, Jack Ben Rabbit. Enjoy Ellen Noel Park. Time: 45 Minutes- 1 Hour Each Cost: No charge

Evening: Enjoy dinner and entertainment at Dos Amigos. The rustic atmosphere of this stable/rodeo arena converted into a fine restaurant is sure to please everyone. Live bull- rides are available at certain times of the year. Call for times. Time: 3 Hours Cost: Varies


 

Wet & Wild


Morning: Spend the morning lost in the arts at Ellen Noel Art Museum. Then  walk next door and visit the Presidential Archives and Leadership Library . Time: 2-3 Hours Cost: $

Afternoon: Spend the afternoon in an oasis paradise. City of Odessa Water Parks offers fun for the entire family with many exciting rides and attractions. So bring your sunscreen and get ready for some splashing fun. Time: 3 - 4 Hours  Cost:  Adults $

Evening: Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of Odessa's many fine restaurants.Attend a production at the Permian Playhouse or the Globe Theatre. (contact the Odessa CVB for current productions). Dining Time: 1 1/2 Hours Dining Cost: Varies Theatre Time: 2 1/2 Hours Theatre Cost: $$


 

Power Play             

Morning: The Ellen Noel Art Museum of the Permian Basin features rotating exhibits of historical and contemporary art.  There is also a unique Sensory Garden for the visually handicapped. Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm Time: 1 - 1.5 Hours Cost: $

Afternoon: Year-round golf, you're in the right place. Enjoy a round of golf at one of Odessa's many golf courses. Time: 4 - 4.5 Hours Cost: $$

Evening: Enjoy dinner at one of Odessa's many fine restaurants. Get ready to rumble with the Odessa Jackalopes. This NAHL hockey team is one of the best. They are sure to offer you an evening of hard hitting hockey excitement. Dining Time 1.5 Hours Cost: Varies Game Time: 3 Hours Cost: $$


Home on the Range ≈ West Texas Style
